 The basic
function of a door closer is to close and latch the door by providing
a smooth, controlled closing action to the door after the door
has been opened and released. We offer a Taymor door closer for
every need from lightweight applications such as interior doors
up to heavy metal or metal and glass exterior doors. Functions

CODE REQUIREMENTS
Most Building and Fire Codes require suite entry doors to an apartment or multi-unit dwelling have a TMFR (Twenty Minute Fire Rated Lockset) door with a door closing device, ball bearing hinges and equivalent fire rated lockset. All other fire and smoke barrier doors, in any building type, require the use of a door closer device with ball bearing hinges and a fire rated lockset or exit hardware. In the event of a fire, this system will reduce the spread of fire and smoke and ensure occupants sufficient time to leave building or resist injury. Responsibility to meet Builder and Fire Codes rests with the owner, occupant or lessee of the building. Non-compliance may result in serious fines or imprisonment.
All 600, 500 and 1900 Series Door Closers are C-UL and UL listed.
